This rub as it should be. Sweet and smoky; smoky somewhat stronger than sweet. I suppose this is best with pork ribs, but I didn’t try that. Works great with beef.

I love making and eating beef jerky and wanted to try a different flavor so when I saw this I snatched it up. It came packaged just fine with no spills or anything that I could see. Getting it out it's a normal shaker bottle of seasoning. It is kind of powdery so make sure no fans or anything is going. I got my cure in my beef then massaged a good deal of this in and got it in the fridge to marinate. The next day I made the jerky and this came out really good, it had a great applewood flavor that complemented the beef. All in all, I would say that if you like applewood smoke this is a great seasoning.

It's a smokey rub. Doesn't taste fake - just tastes really smokey - but because that's how they're advertising it, no complaints.This is note smokey as in there is a hint for smoke here. This is a smokey rub.
